EA has changed their online registration that requires you to create a "Master ID" which becomes the web address of your profile. It always returns "This Master ID is invalid or already exists". Even generating random string at random.org gives the same error. No rules governing the creation of these Master ID's are given or explained.
This is typical of an organisation which does not understand customer service. The added "feature" they implemented creates a barrier to entry which does not seem to register to the people running the site.
Even first year CS students know better than this.
